There was a land full of beautiful plants, colourful flowers and spectacular landscapes. After sunny days would come warm nights with thousands of sparkling stars-other lands of the Sky. Since early morning till late evening the days were filled with amazing voices of wonderful unseen creatures. And nights would become the time of silence and the magical views of flying lights. That was the great kingdom of harmony.
The land was divided into two parts. One of them was covered in bright green meadows, amazing plants, looking at the high bluish-white mountains. Another side was full of mythical creatures, living in the highest trees and deepest seas, flying in the sky and walking through the grass. The view of the land reminded me of a wonderful piece of art.
In the very middle of the land there was a special place where flora and fauna came together and a new life form was born: plants got wings and the birds had berry hearts. These small species were called Plant-birds. They could fly very high and bring the rain drops to the land. That’s why sometimes these creatures were called ‘Tiny Spirits of the Sky-Land’. Plant-Birds were responsible of keeping harmony in the land. Over a long period of time they became the symbol of balance in the nature. Thanks to Plant-Birds the land was full of life and it remains so until today.
Small and powerful.
Flora and fauna.
Growing blooming birds.
Two separated parts become one.
Sounding days and quiet nights.
Harmony.
This series of works was inspired by one of the CDC challenges. The Fig-Owl was the character which motivated me to continue with the concept of vegan animals. I love this creative process that gives me more challenges than I expected before the start. This time I was wondering how the combination of a fruit and a bird could be so effective visually. Its minimalist graphic form reminded me of a logotype, some kind of a well recognizable symbol. Another discovery of this work was a rich colour palette. Again, I dived into the study of nature forms and found so many distinctive combinations of colours: bright orange and ash grey, deep dark purple and calm moss, light cold blue and emerald green. It was so wonderful to feel the harmony of nature in this way. And then I thought to myself, what greatness surrounds us. Just open your mind and let it in.
